About Us
Northeast Graffiti Busters (NEGB) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation whose work entails graffiti removal, street sweeping, sidewalk cleaning utilizing state of the art vacuum and scrubbing units; refuse collection from receptacles situated along commercial corridors; and landscape watering, planting and related services for sidewalk trees and street median vegetation; maintenance of public signs and art elements; and bulky-item pick up. NEGB works with stakeholders, businesses, and community-based organizations to engage them as partners in the maintenance of the area. NEGB is designed to assist in removing visual blight and negative influences and to enhance the physical appearance of key commercial corridors and neighborhoods in the Northeast San Fernando Valley to encourage business retention, new business investment and community pride. NEGB is a vital part of the economic development of the Northeast San Fernando Valley.
Our History
Northeast Graffiti Busters (NEGB) was founded in 2001 and has 19 years of graffiti removal experience. NEGB was established to address visual blight in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, which needed a homegrown non-profit organization that could respond immediately to community concerns. Since its inception, NEGB was successful in reducing the quantity of graffiti tremendously which has made the communities we serve much safer. According to LAPD, “graffiti is used to communicate messages between gangs using codes with common meaning” but because of our rapid response rate of 24-48 hours, crime rates related to gangs have reduced significantly. NEGB began its operational area in only Council District 7 but because of our exemplary service as it relates to our work standards, community engagement and institutional knowledge, we expanded into Council Districts 1, 6, 14 and parts of 2.
Our Mission
Our mission to address visual blight including graffiti removal, illegally dumped bulky items, trash along busy business corridors, tree pruning, gum removal, weed abatement and providing effective and consistent community outreach.
